Windham School District has an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges.
This position is an Itinerant position and supports both the Windham Center and Windham Middle Schools.
Hours are 7:00 - 3:00 pm.
Job Summary:
To install maintain and repair hardware software and peripherals in the school district. Serve as a member of a high-functioning team to support educational technology. Must be able to assume assignments with a high degree of self-direction proceed in an organized manner understand how to research requirements and issues provide documentation of work and procedures and seek expert assistance where indicated. Excellent communication skills are essential. Regular interaction with users in a timely and professional manner is required.
Responsibilities:
Repairs and maintains Chromebook PC and Macintosh computer systems printers and peripheral equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance on all computer systems throughout the school year.
Orders and stocks supplies and parts needed for the repair of technology equipment.
Designs effective troubleshooting procedures for all hardware and software and trains staff on such processes.
Maintains an inventory of technology-related equipment and records of requests for repairs installations charges etc.
Installs technology hardware software and network components.
Installs and upgrades client and host operating and application software.
Provides user support and training on proper computer and network use.
Assists in the setup of technology for professional development purposes and testing.
Becomes proficient in the use of all existing and newly acquired technology and uses that proficiency to assist staff to access and maximize their use of technology.
Assesses the needs of users evaluates alternatives and makes recommendations of hardware and software to solve problems and improve efficiency.
Assists the District Network Administrator and the Technology Director with administering the Schools LANs including servers switches and other network equipment.
Attends workshops conferences training approved by the Director of Technology to improve the skills and knowledge needed to perform the assigned duties.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Director of Technology may assign.
Qualifications:
Associates degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field.
Good interpersonal skills necessary for extensive interaction with school staff.
Patience and clear communication skills necessary for teaching staff how to use new technology.
Good organizational skills.
Experience in the repair and maintenance of Chromebooks
Experience in the repair and maintenance of PCs utilizing Windows OS
Experience in the repair and maintenance of Macintosh OS X
Ability to work as an effective member of a high-performing team
Maintains a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Desirable Skills:Experience with educational technologies with specific knowledge of educational hardware and software.
Salary and Benefits: This is a 260-day-per-year position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
