IMEG is hiring a Technology Intern in Fairfax VA. Over 10-12 weeks you will assist in the analysis design and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology ICT systems in buildings as part of a paid mentored internship with real project work.

In this role you will support project design documentation coordination and job site observations while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will also gain exposure to aviation-focused technology consulting.

What Youll Do

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with engineering analysis design and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology ICT systems in buildings.
• Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment.
• Assist with maintaining client relations project design notebooks and documentation for permanent record files.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and equipment supplier teams.
• Assist with documenting design decisions meetings and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check and assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services as required by the contract services agreement.
• Perform other duties assigned by the employer.

What Youll Bring

Required Education

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Electronics Computer or related Engineering Information Technology Computer Science related STEM field or equivalent required

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong interest in building design consulting
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenge
• Developing proficiency in the use of BIM software
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook

Preferred

• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

State of Virginia Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including the candidates experience education knowledge skills abilities and licensure and certifications.
