Job Title: Technical Writer (Onsite)
Location: San Jose CA Onsite relocation yes
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description:
Responsibilities-
- Create /Modify a topic for a feature that currently lacks documentation or needs upgrade.
- Usually one topic at a time (i.e. one project one topic maybe two)
- Work with SMEs and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information verify technical accuracy topic quality and so on.
- Analyze content for an existing area and suggest improvements
- Assess quality usefulness etc.
- Suggest meaningful improvements beyond copy edit
Skills and experience-
- 8 10 years of relevant experience
- BS / MS / MBA in computer science / engineering / business management or relevant education
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipeline and experience in version control
- Core developer technical writing competency
- Knowledge of developer workflows proven experience working in an environment with APIs and software development tools
- Familiarity with contributing content in a shared environment with source control
- Familiarity with Markdown
- Familiarity with HTML/XHTML/CSS
- Basic ability to read and understand small snippets of code
- Google experience in documentation
Nice to have - not required
- Android/Chrome understanding ideally documenting Android code or APIs
- Programming experience (JavaScript)
- Git experience
