Job Description:
Seeking a technical writer to improve existing and develop new technical documentation. The documentation being developed is for use by manufacturing and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Documentation Creation: Develop and improve work instructions standard operating procedures troubleshooting guides and job aids.
- Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts engineers and operations gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Research: Investigate and analyze technical information from various sources to create comprehensive documentation that meets user needs.
- Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit documentation for clarity consistency and adherence to company style guidelines.
- Basic Project Management: Manage documentation projects including planning scheduling and tracking progress to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Required Skills
- 3 years of technical writing experience manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 a must
- Proficient with MS Office (Word Excel Power Point Outlook Teams). PTC Windchill system experience is a plus.
- Ability to understand technical processes being documented. Optics knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all documentation produced.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment adapting to changing project requirements and deadlines.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in English communication technical writing engineering or science fields (preferred).
- Associates degree or HS Diploma/GED with significant technical writing experience may be considered.
