Position Summary
Performs entry to intermediate skilled technical work involving installation maintenance
troubleshooting repair and operational support of district systems facilities infrastructure and
equipment. Work is performed under general supervision and follows established procedures
technical standards and safety requirements.


This classification may be assigned to specialized work areas such as plumbing electrical systems
welding/fabrication mechanical systems controls low-voltage systems information technology
systems network infrastructure or other district technical operations based on operational need.
Specifically this Technical Support Technician (TST) position provides front-line technical support and
customer service to students staff and families by troubleshooting maintaining and supporting
district technology systems and devices. This position installs configures repairs and supports
hardware software classroom technology and testing platforms while ensuring adherence to district
technology standards and best practices. The Technical Support Technician (TST) manages work
requests through the district ticketing system supports device deployment and inventory
management assists with standardized testing technology requirements and provides training and
guidance to end users. This role collaborates closely with school staff fellow technicians and district
IT teams to ensure reliable and effective technology operations across multiple schools and learning
environments.

Essential Job Functions
Perform routine maintenance and repair of assigned systems or equipment
Assist with installation and replacement of infrastructure components
Troubleshoot operational issues using tools meters software or testing devices
Read work orders diagrams manuals and technical instructions
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules
Respond to service calls and urgent repair needs

Follow district safety protocols and applicable code requirements

Technical training certification apprenticeship or related experience

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Work is performed in shop office and on-site environments with travel between District locations as
required. The position involves a combination of sedentary duties and moderate physical activity.
Physical requirements may include standing or walking for extended periods; lifting and carrying
objects weighing up to 50 pounds; climbing stairs ladders or scaffolding; and performing tasks that
involve bending kneeling crouching or crawling. The role also requires reaching holding grasping
turning objects and using fingers to operate tools and computer equipment.


The position requires the ability to communicate verbally as well as the use of normal or corrected
vision and hearing. The ability to detect odors may also be necessary to safely perform job duties.

Employees in this category will also receive the following for the 2026-2027 school year:

  • Non-Recurring Pay: 7% of base salary in Non-Recurring Pay (distributed as 3.5% on November paycheck and 3.5% on May paycheck).

Base Salary Setting:Employment assignment and salary placement is in accordance with job description requirements. A work history is required to demonstrate job title job duties and time worked in the position. Salary Setting (New Hires):Any newly-employed Education Support Professional will be placed on the twenty-five (25) step system. Each step represents two years of experience based upon equivalent experience. The maximum number of years of experience granted is 19-20 years which is equivalent to placement on step ten (10). Steps are determined by experience listed on the application and resume.

Salary Setting (Rehires):Returning employees who have previously resigned or separated from the District will be rehired at the same step they were on at the time of resignation/separation plus any new experience gained in the same job provided step increases were approved by the Board during the years in question.

Employees with experience in the District who have left the District and then returned to the same position shall be hired at the same pay grade (refers to the ESP placement on salary schedule by job title) and step at time of resignation. Additional relevant experience gained after resignation may be evaluated from the employees application and updated resume.
