Technical Services Application Scientist

Position Overview

The Application Scientist Technical Services is responsible for providing outstanding technical support of Exact products to Exact Sciences Clinical Lab customers. This position works in collaboration with others on troubleshooting and resolving customer assay questions or issues in a timely manner. This position will also work on transferring new development projects and bringing enhancements of current products and processes to the customer. This position may include approximately 15% travel.

Essential Duties

• Receive and document incoming customer communications.
• Work cooperatively with the Technical Services team and when appropriate internal functional departments to troubleshoot and resolve customer questions or requests in the areas of reagent consumables and assay related issues.
• Support troubleshooting of customer issues through root cause investigation experiment design study execution data analysis and reporting.
• Conduct bench level experiments within several product areas.
• Clearly and accurately summarize and document troubleshooting activities or technical summary.
• Conduct enhancement activities of existing products or processes and assist in implementation of new product launches.
• Prepare reports and documentation providing the analysis or summarization of project status and results.
• Assist with metrics tracking to monitor performance of the technical services team and quality of the product delivered to the laboratory customer.
• Draft and distribute content of customer communications including customer notifications and technical or service bulletins.
• Identify contribute implement and report on improvements in processes and products.
• Clearly frequently and accurately communicate with employees and customers in person via the telephone or by email.
• Provide technical and hands-on support to laboratory customers.
• Apply analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a detail-oriented manner with solid organizational skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Support and comply with the companys Quality Management System policies and procedures.

• Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in life sciences or related field.
• 3 year of professional work experience in life sciences or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully use molecular biology techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data with tools such as Microsoft Excel or JMP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel and Word.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a medical device field.
• Experience working in an ISO 13485 FDA GMP or USDA regulated environment.
• Experience working in a technical support function.
• Demonstrated understanding of the Quality System Regulations and Service requirements defined therein.

The base pay for this position is

$61300.00 $122700.00

In specific locations the pay range may vary from the range posted.
