- The Intern / Co-op term is from January to December 2027.
- Full time requirement (40 hours per week).
The Co-Op Student will support continuous improvement initiatives and business projects within the assigned department. Working under the guidance of a mentor this role provides hands-on experience in engineering processes project management process optimization and operational excellence while contributing to projects that improve efficiency reduce costs shorten cycle times and enhance overall quality.
- Supporting projects focused on improving process efficiency productivity quality and cost reduction.
- Assisting with project execution using project management and continuous improvement methodologies such as FPX Lean and Six Sigma.
- Participating in testing validation and documentation activities related to products processes equipment and raw materials.
- Maintaining technical and operational documentation including specifications reports and project records.
- Analyzing data and preparing reports to communicate project progress and results.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
- Assisting in the development of concepts designs and approaches for new products processes or testing methods.
- Supporting compliance with company policies environmental safety and occupational health requirements.
- Communicating project updates risks opportunities and business-related issues to leadership when appropriate.
- Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies at an accredited university is required.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering Chemical Engineering or a related Engineering field.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and remain in good academic standing.
- Previous internship co-op undergraduate research or relevant project experience is preferred.
- Leadership experience through student organizations extracurricular activities or community involvement is a plus.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience with Minitab Visio Power BI or other analytical tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Availability to work flexible schedules including overtime when required.
