Join GE Vernovas pioneering Nuclear Risk-Informed Maintenance (RIM) Engineering team and help define the maintenance strategy framework for next-generation reactor technology. As the Technical Lead Engineer for Maintenance Strategy you will lead the development of risk-informed condition-based and time-based maintenance technical bases that support safe reliable and economically competitive plant operation across the full asset lifecycle.

In this role you will guide a team of engineers developing Maintenance Strategy Technical Basis Reports FMEA/RCM analyses and reliability program content for plant systems structures and components. You will ensure the technical basis is sufficiently detailed to support outage planning online versus outage task determination equipment criticality evaluation failure mode fidelity and integration into digital asset management and work management platforms such as APM and Maximo.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead development of maintenance strategies for advanced reactor systems using RCM FMEA PRA operating experience and engineering judgment.
  • Provide technical direction on time-based risk-informed and condition-based maintenance approaches.
  • Develop and manage teamwork plans aligned with 13-week rolling schedules and program priorities.
  • Allocate resources and assign work based on technical complexity team capability and development goals.
  • Monitor scope quality and on-time delivery of technical work; conduct in-process reviews for consistency and rigor.
  • Ensure maintenance strategy outputs are suitable for implementation in APM Maximo and related digital work management systems.
  • Coordinate across design systems engineering PRA I&C outage planning operations procurement and digital teams.
  • Support technical discussions with customers and stakeholders regarding maintenance philosophy outage impacts and strategy assumptions.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point and backup to the manager as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Nuclear Mechanical Electrical or related Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • For US: Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in nuclear maintenance engineering system design engineering reliability engineering PRA outage planning asset management operations or maintenance strategy development.
  • For Poland: Solid progressive experience in nuclear maintenance engineering system design engineering reliability engineering PRA outage planning asset management operations or maintenance strategy development.

Eligibility Requirements

  • For US: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
  • For Canada: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
  • For Canada: This position will report onsite to the Markham office 3 days a week.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience developing or applying maintenance strategies for commercial nuclear plant equipment or comparable industrial assets.
  • Demonstrated leadership of technical teams projects or workstreams.
  • Ability to obtain required authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Experience with advanced reactor or new-build nuclear programs.
  • Deep understanding of RCM principles and practical application; strong understanding of preventive predictive and condition-based maintenance.
  • Experience leading or performing FMEAs with sufficient fidelity for maintenance task development.
  • Familiarity with PRA-informed maintenance optimization and Master Parts Lists/Functional Equipment Groups.
  • Experience with APM CMMS/EAM or digital work management systems (Maximo preferred).
  • Familiarity with outage planning recurring maintenance window development and online versus outage-required maintenance considerations.
  • Experience engaging with utility customers or operators on maintenance strategy topics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle aging management equipment reliability programs and industry guidance (e.g. EPRI PMBD).

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position the pay range for this position is between $120K and $170K CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.
