Job Description
Performs engineering aid and/or related clerical type tasks in general engineering office.
What you will do
- Performs one or more of the following engineering aid and/or related clerical type tasks in the general engineering office:
- Preparing checking and closing work orders for major projects.
- Obtaining information on material requirements and making up material tickets; preparing material requisitions; keeping record of material received for specific projects and notifying appropriate department when material is received or of any delays or discrepancies.
- Checking material charges against field inventory; checking labor material and transportation charges for proper accounting.
- Assisting with inventory and material accounting work in field.
- Preparing engineering graphs charts sketches etc. as directed; assisting in laying out lines and substations; making calculations as instructed in connection with engineering work; keeping various engineering records and files as assigned.
- Preparing preliminary descriptions for line and substation construction projects; assembling lists of material for such projects; preparing requisitions for materials needed for project; prepare and close work orders for construction projects.
- Assisting engineers in gathering field data.
- Performs other duties which are similar related or incidental to this position.
- Other Education equivalent to 2 years of technical or business administration training in engineering related courses beyond high school Required
Required Experience
- 3 years experience in technical or clerical aspects of engineering work
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- A general knowledge of line and substation construction methods and standards
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
