AES Clean Energy (CE) is seeking a Team Lead Data Services and Infrastructure to support the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Engineering team by leading the development management and scaling of data systems that underpin the CE portfolios analytics capabilities. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability scalability and accessibility of data across AES CEs growing fleet of Solar Wind and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets.
This roleis responsible foroverseeing both data infrastructure and data services functions including data pipelinesarchitecturedataquality and reporting systems. The Team Lead will build and manage a small high-impact team while also owning the tools and platforms that enable the broader Data Analytics organization. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technicalexpertise leadership capability and strategic thinking to support a rapidly growing and evolving data environment.

A day in the life of an AESCETeam Lead Data Services and Infrastructurewill include but is not limited to:
Leading and developing a team responsible for data pipelines architecture data quality and reporting services
Designing managing andoptimizingdata infrastructure supporting Solar Wind and BESS analytics use casesas part of the Clean Energy Data Analytics and Reporting (CEDAR) platform
Owning and administrating core data engineering and analytics platforms used by the Data Analytics team
Ensuring high data quality reliability and availability acrossCEDAR and otheroperational and reporting systems
Collaborating with Analytics Engineering O&M Engineering and Digital teams to deliver scalable data solutions
The Team Lead Data Services and Infrastructuresupportsa larger O&M and Data Analytics organization and serves as the primary owner of data platform performance and reliability. This requires strong experience with data architecture pipeline development cloud platforms and operational data systems (e.g. SCADA/DAS) as well as the ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent communication prioritization and strategic planning skills are essential.
The position may include up to5-10% travel to partner officesand project locations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
Oversee the design development and maintenance of data pipelines and architecture supportingthe Clean Energy Data Analytics and Reporting (CEDAR) platform
Ensure scalable reliable ingestion and processing of operational data from SCADA DAS and other external data sourcesto the GCP data lake
Build and lead a team of data engineering and data architecture professionals (initially 2 roles) to support growing data needs
Oversee the Data Services function ensuringhigh standardsfor data quality integrity and reportingreliability
Own and administratecore data engineering and analytics tools for the broader Data Analytics team
Establish andmonitordata quality frameworks validation processes and system performance metrics
Drive standardization of data models pipelines and architecture to support long-term scalability
Participatein Job Safety Assessments and Safety Walks toidentifyjob-site hazards when traveling to sites
Collaboration
Collaborate with the Analytics Engineering team to ensure data products are built on scalable reliable infrastructure
Partner with O&M Engineering to align data systems with operational analytics needs and priorities
Together with the CE Operations Technologyand Digitalteamsworkto deliver successful data pipelines from DAS providers tothe GCP data lake
Leadintegration engineeringefforts to improve data systems and workflows across teams
Serve as a key liaison between data platform teams and end users ensuring data accessibility and usability
As a subject matter expert advise otherteam membersacross the organizationon best practices for data-relatedprojects
Growth and Leadership
Build mentor and develop a high-performing team fostering a culture of accountability innovation and continuous improvement
Define and prioritize the data infrastructure roadmap in alignment with organizational goals and portfolio growth
Identifyopportunities to improve efficiency scalability and reliability of data systems and processes
Lead adoption of new tools technologies and best practices in data engineering andanalytics
Contribute to strategic planning efforts related to data analytics and digital transformation across AES CE
Promote strong data governance practices including documentation standards and consistency across teams
Improve and develop processes forutilizingdata to ensuretheoperationof safequalityand high-performance projects
Willingness to continue to learn and grow your skills constantly evaluating how AES CE operations can be improved

Skills and Qualifications
Primary Qualifications
Undergraduatedegree in Engineering Computer ScienceDataScienceor equivalent technical field
5 years of experience in data engineering data architecture or related roles
AdvancedproficiencywithSQL and Python
Experience designing andmaintainingscalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g.GCPAzureorAWS)
Experience working with large-scale time-series datasets (e.g.fromSCADA/DASsystems)
Strong understanding of data modeling data architecture and system design principles
Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices
Successful experience workingand managing projectsacross teamsespeciallywith agile methodologies
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High degree of commitment to a quality safety culture and an incident-free work environment
Personal values consistent with those ofthe AESCorporation
Plus Qualifications
Masters degree in Engineering Computer Science Data Science or equivalent
Experience with the technical/electrical aspects of Solar PV Wind andBatteryEnergy Storage Systems(BESS)
Experience supporting or building analytics/reporting environments (Power BI Tableau etc.)
Familiarity with orchestration and workflow tools (e.g.PrefectAirflow)
Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
