Job Summary

DUTIES:
  1. Teachers are responsible to Summer Coordinator Assistant Principal of Special Education Supervisor and the Chief of Student Support and Services
  2. Keep student attendance records and follow up with absenteeism
  3. Provide timely information to families and students
  4. Prevent regression through academic and/or gross motor and/or social skills instruction as outlined in the students IEPs
  5. Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated
  6. Assume responsibility for the office and clerical work associated with this Extended Year Program
  7. Communicate student attendance and retention of skills during the Extended Year program to the students 2024-2025 schools
  8. Feed diaper and assist with personal hygiene as needed
  9. Perform additional duties assigned by the Coordinator or AP of this summer program

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Preference given to teachers currently workingin Low Incidence Programs
  2. Must possess DESE license (Moderate Disabilties PreK-8 or 5-12) or qualify for licensure waiver
  3. Ability to modify curriculum and accommodate students as needed
  4. Facility in implementing students IEPs to meet their individual needs
  5. Ability to manage classroom staff and work with other professionals to provide a quality educational experience
  6. Professional communication skills
  7. Ability to work with a diverse student population and staff pool

Compensation:$50 per hour for teachers and coordinators
