Qualifications:

• NJ instructional certificatein Physical Education and Health
• Hold and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications
• If assigned responsibilities for teaching swimming must hold and maintain anAmerican Red Cross water safety certificate registered with the New Jersey State Department of Education
• Have experience in teaching and working with students in the field of comprehensive health and physical education unless entering teaching from an alternative certification program
• Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA
• Excellent classroom management
• Effective instructional practices and strategies
• Experience working withelementarystudents
• Excellent interpersonal skills integrity and good moral character
• Must be a critical thinker problem solver and respect others
• Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff students parents and the community
• Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing data management information retrieval visual and audio presentations and telecommunications
• Diagnose student strengths and weakness and match those skills with appropriate techniques and materials
• Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills
