Teacher of Science (leave replacement)

Livingston Public Schools is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Middle School Science Teacher for a leave replacement position at Heritage Middle School beginning November 1 2026 through June 30 2027.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a valid New Jersey Middle School Science or High School Science certification appropriate for the assignment.
• Demonstrate a strong knowledge of science content and effective instructional practices appropriate for middle school students.
• Create an engaging student-centered learning environment that promotes inquiry critical thinking collaboration and problem-solving.
• Develop and implement standards-aligned science instruction that supports diverse learners.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues students and families.
• Utilize formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with OpenSciEd is a plus.

• Appropriate New Jersey teaching certification in Middle School Science or High School Science.
• Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality engaging science instruction.

Salary will be at Step 1 of the BA MA 2MA or D guide depending on the successful candidates highest level of education in accordance with the LEA agreement available on the districts website ().
