QUALIFICATIONS:
Arizona Elementary or Secondary Teacher certification
Native American (preferred)
Experience working with Native American communities
Experience collaborating with teachers and administrators
Background in the theory and practices of Multicultural Education (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with peers
Technologically literate
Knowledge or familiarity of Native American culture history issues etc.
Flexible well-organized effective time manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Expose and educate students to Native American culture and values in an effort to increase self-esteem and cultural pride by providing enrichment and leadership classes before during and/or after school.
Promote individual achievement and positive behavior of all Native American students by monitoring grades attendance attitude and participation in school activities.
Provide individual academic assistance to Native American students by collaborating with the students teachers to coordinate a cohesive and rigorous educational program.
Meet with teachers to identify students at-risk for mentoring tutoring and enrichment in cultural components.
Collect and monitor Native American students assessment attendance data and grades.
Disseminate information to parents teachers and administration.
Assist with program compliance monitoring and assessments.
Communicate with parents during regularly scheduled Native American Parent meetings conferences and other means to discuss students academic progress and interpret the Native American Program goals and objectives.
Obtain and organize external services to meet Title VII Program Goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
