Summary
Orders prepares and distributes meals to classrooms. Maintains allergy list. Cleans sanitizes and organizes all service wear. Classroom duties are required in the afternoon consisting of lesson planning activities playground supervision.
Job Duties
- Supervision of children
- Help create and implement afternoon lesson plans that are developmentally age appropriate.
- Delivers and serves meals at the assigned meal times.
- Develops and provides lesson plan resources for all classrooms to encourage healthy eating especially during nutrition month.
- Ensures carts are set up with appropriate items and food portions before meal service to maintain efficiency.
- Notifies personnel in the hospital food service department when menu changes occur or problems/issues relating to food quality ordering or service delivery happen.
- Participates in the food preparation and clean-up of Center-wide catered and special functions.
- Provides additional servings of the remaining food for the children.
- Provides the appropriate food items as per CACFP nutritional guidelines.
- Provides the children with additional food that they can serve themselves in all classrooms.
- Reviews classroom allergy lists monthly and makes the appropriate changes and takes the necessary precautions.
- Serves and maintains food in a manner consistent with all food safety requirements of all regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma CDA with 2 years experience or
- Associates Degree with 15 college credits in early childhood education child development elementary education or early childhood special education.
- 3 years experience related to the care and development of children.
- 1 year experience with food service.
- First Aid Certificate - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development/Family Studies or Early Childhood Special Education.
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing frequent keyboard use *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling bending squatting and performing CPR.
