Job Summary
National Instruments (NI) is looking for a Tax Manager to join our Reporting and Tax Compliance team. NIs Reporting and Tax Compliance team is responsible for assisting with the Emerson (EMR) global tax provision process U.S. and international income tax compliance and income tax audits. The Tax Manager will work alongside members of the NI and EMR Tax Teams as well as domestic and regional finance managers and staff outside tax advisors and internal and external auditors.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Assist with preparation of the interim and annual income tax provisions
- Assist with internal control documentation and maintain controls related to the global tax accounts
- Perform income tax account reconciliations
- Prepare income tax return to provision reconciliations
- Coordinate with external service providers on income tax matters
- Assist with preparation of U.S. federal and state income tax compliance
- Assist with preparation of other U.S. federal and state tax compliance matters
- Perform ad hoc analysis of tax issues to support management inquiries and assist in special projects as requested
Candidate will also be expected to monitor tax legislation and research various federal state and international tax issues as they arise.
MAJOR CHALLENGES:
- To drive innovation process optimization and compliance in the Tax Department
- Support automation of functions to improve overall efficiency of the Tax Department
Support integration of the tax provision process with Parent Company
For This Role You Will Need:
- The candidate should have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Tax or equivalent
- The candidate should have 5 years of tax experience ideally including public accounting/Big 4 experience
- Knowledge of U.S. tax rules including understanding of U.S. reporting of international operations
Broad knowledge of accounting for income taxes under ASC 740
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- CPA and/or Masters degree or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience working in a U.S. multi-national environment would be an advantage
- Experience working in a high-tech environment would be an advantage
Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software would be an advantage
