The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Systems Administrator oversees the administration maintenance and cybersecurity protection of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server systems that support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services within the NITE.
- Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems including coordination with network administrators.
- Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts maintaining system documentation tuning system performance installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Work in close coordination with other team members and departments to update monitor and maintain servers and workstations used throughout the enterprise.
- Perform Microsoft Windows server administration manage GPOs create/modify DHCP reservations patching and configuring systems in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- Candidate must have Security or equivalent certification.
- Candidate must have experience with Windows desktop operating systems (WIN10 SHB).
- Candidate must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret security clearance.
- Candidate must be able to work independently and work within a team.
- Candidate must have experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
- Candidate must have experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations.
- Candidate must have experience with VMware.
- Candidate must have familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols.
- Candidate must have strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- Candidate must have the ability to read and digest technical information.
- Candidate must have strong attention to detail.
- Candidate must have strong customer focus the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
- Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Server Focused highly desired.
- RedHat desktop operating systems (RHEL 7/8) experience highly desired.
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS or SCCM.
- Experience with Windows Servers 2016/2019.
- Linux or Microsoft certification preferred.
