Bosch Building Technologies Integrator Business

The regional system integration business called Bosch Building Technologies offers solutions and customized services for building security energy efficiency and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015. Job Summary:

Systems Specialist Senior provides technical support for Building Automation and Special Systems including troubleshooting programming startup commissioning and ongoing service. This role supports projects from installation through turnover working both onsite and remotely to ensure systems operate reliably efficiently and in compliance with building requirements. The position collaborates closely with installation teams service partners sales and customers while maintaining accurate documentation and providing technical guidance across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Provide troubleshooting support for Building Automation System (BAS) onsite or via remote services exhibiting a robust capability to identify and resolve issues concerning diverse control components and software from on-site and off-site locations.
• Utilize fault-detection and diagnostic tools to provide proactive data-driven service.
• Provide Special Systems database graphics programming etc. for sequences as provided by the Design Specialist project specifications or other applicable sources.
• Provide accurate controls of special systems start-up and commissioning including point-to-point checkout on projects as assigned. Verify correct alarm annunciation and other actions by equipment devices panels and annunciators of Special Systems projects.
• Provide Controls database graphics programming etc. for sequences as provided by the Design Specialist project specifications or other applicable sources. (Distech Alerton Tridium experience preferred)
• Provide accurate controls of systems start-up and commissioning including point-to-point checkout on projects as assigned. Verify correct alarm annunciation and other actions by equipment devices panels and annunciators of Controls projects.
• Support installation personnel on project sites.
• Support and mentor System Specialist I
• Provide information and support for other contractors on project site.
• Debug installation issues during both the static and dynamic start up and commissioning of building controls.
• Provide support to Bosch Building Technologies and other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the controls or special systems operation.
• Provide input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation design installation start up commissioning and training for building systems.
• Provide start up documentation including daily logs check out logs commissioning documents etc. as required for assigned projects.
• Ensure timely software backups are created for projects and software development.
• Provide service support on existing installations ensuring systems continue to meet existing building occupancy codes.
• Provide service support on existing systems ensuring their proper and efficient operation as well as providing ongoing support to the facilitys building engineers.
• Complete time sheets service work orders and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist in preparing of as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
• Assist in turnover of projects from Operations Team to Service Team.
• Assist Sales team during estimating phase including potential product or system demonstrations.
• Travel to project sites as required to support system startup commissioning and onsite personnel during project execution based on project size scope and requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Engineering (mechanical computer science electrical information technology Two-year technical degree in HVAC Electronics-related studies) or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in building controls or a related field.
• Experience with programming and controls database management.
• Understanding of computer networking principles including configuration maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers and multi-phase power (120VAC and greater).
• Proficiency with electronic testing equipment such as volt meters amp meters and oscilloscopes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7 years experience with Distech Alerton or Tridium controls systems.
• Deep understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.
• Experience with Fault Detection and Diagnostics platforms
• Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases.
• Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites.
• Experience creating start-up documentation including daily logs check-out logs and commissioning documents.
• Industry certifications

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)

• Limited overnight travel may be required
