The Surveyor is expected to perform land and hydrographic surveys in a professional timely and safe manner that satisfies the clients requirements. The Surveyor will be responsible for survey project planning coordination execution of fieldwork and production of project deliverables.
- Survey project schedules and forecasts.
- Planning scheduling conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.
- Direct and performland basedand hydrographic (single-beam multi-beam and sonar imaging)surveys.
- On-site safety directing and documenting safety meetings.
- Adhereto quality assurance procedures.
- Knowledge of surveying equipment and software.
- Complete project administrative tasks forms etc.
- Ensure survey equipment is in good working condition and properly report any deficiencies.
- Operatevehiclessurvey vesselsandassociatedsupport equipment.
- Assistwith the development of survey procedures.
- Assistwith the preparation of project scopes and estimates.
- Plan and execute project quality control and assurance procedures.
- High school diploma or certification.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in land surveying.
- Technical knowledge experience and capabilities in the area of practice.
- High level leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language.
- 4-Year degree from an accredited college or university with a course in engineering or closely related field
- AutoCAD or MicroStationproficiency
- 10hrOSHA General Construction Course
The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit stand walk use handsreach withhands and arms and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 25pounds andoccasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilitiesrequiredfor this position include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field the intern maybe requiredto walk in rugged conditions work in adverse weather conditions and stand up to eight hours or more at a time. The hourly pay range for positions in Virginiais $27 to $34 an hour depending on education and relevant experience.
