Survey Crew Chief

At R. Joe Harris & Associates Inc. we are seeking a skilled Survey Crew Chief to lead field crews and ensure accuracy on a wide range of land development and civil site projects. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with hands-on experience in surveying techniques and equipment and has a passion for delivering high-quality results.

What Youll Do

1. Lead and manage survey crews in the field to complete boundary topographic and construction staking surveys.
2. Plan and organize survey activities determining the best methods procedures and equipment for each project.
3. Operate and oversee the use of total stations GPS and other instruments.
4. Collect accurate field data and ensure proper documentation for project deliverables.
5. Collaborate with project managers engineers clients and team members to meet project requirements.
6. Maintain safety standards and compliance on all job sites.
7. Keep thorough field notes records and project documentation.
8. Mentor and train junior crew members supporting their professional growth.
9. Stay current on new technologies industry trends and regulations.

What Were Looking For

1. 2 years of experiences as a survey crew chief or instrument operator.
2. Proficiency with total stations GPS equipment and surveying instruments.
3. Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate crews.
4. Strong communication problem-solving and attention to detail.
5. Experience with Trimble Business Center or similar software.
6. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
