- Completes tasks that support management. Makes decisions when manager is unavailable.
- Understands department objectives standards guidelines and budget to achieve effective supervision of department.
- May participate in any court actions relating to gaming violations in order to represent facts as obtained by department.
- Maintains daily log and reports to ensure that adequate and accurate information on surveillance activities are kept for future access.
- Helps to maintains current information on suspicious individuals to ensure the protection of company assets patrons and employees; develops and maintains communications with law enforcement agencies and surveillance personnel of other racinos.
- Reports all observed violations of gaming regulations and procedures to appropriate authority in order to adhere to company reporting requirements and the State Gaming Commission.
- Ensures that proper procedures for Games VLTs Cashiers drops etc. are implemented and maintained.
- May conduct investigations as required.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel Access Word Outlook).
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers outside contacts and all levels of employees.
- Ability to look over players and observe cheating techniques.
- Ability to identify cheating techniques and operate computer and surveillance equipment.
- Basic knowledge of county and state ordinances.
- Knowledge and understanding of electronic video and alarm functions.
- Knowledge of state laws pertaining to citizens powers of arrest procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of games and statistical and daily games reports.
- Other duties as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has supervisory responsibilities.
- Responsible for staff development and training programs.
- Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
- Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regard to performance.
- Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
- Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
- Responsible for employee performance (disciplining coaching counseling).
Education and/or Experience:Three years progressively more challenging leadership role in surveillance security or law enforcement; Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications Licenses Registrations: Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal state and local regulations.
Must possess a valid drivers license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn National Gamings auto insurance carrier.
