Surgicenter Patient Care Clerk Temporary

Position SummaryThe Patient Care Clerk supports perioperative services by assisting with patient transport safe patient handling operating room preparation equipment movement and environmental cleanliness. This role helps ensure efficient surgical workflows maintains a safe environment for patients and staff and supports the timely turnover of operating rooms while adhering to organizational policies infection prevention standards and regulatory ResponsibilitiesSafely transport transfer and position patients using appropriate equipment and established patient handling with the transportation of equipment supplies specimens blood products and other materials as operating rooms for surgical procedures including room setup equipment placement and environmental over operating rooms efficiently between procedures and return equipment and supplies to designated a clean safe and organized environment in accordance with infection prevention and sanitation patient transport devices lifting equipment and other mechanical assist devices according to manufacturer guidelines and safety with stocking and replenishing supplies and materials used to support perioperative patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational professional communication and collaboration with patients visitors physicians and team with all organizational policies accreditation standards regulatory requirements and safety other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of healthcare patient transport surgical services or hospital support experience preferred.0-1 years of experience required; healthcare experience & CompetenciesKnowledge of safe patient handling transport procedures and infection prevention to safely operate patient transport and lifting communication interpersonal and customer service to follow instructions adhere to established procedures and maintain attention to to work effectively in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a teamWorking Conditions (modify the below as necessary)Work is primarily performed in a clinical office setting and involves frequent telephone and in-person communication with patients and role involves continuous engagement and interaction with others and may involve occasional or frequent work environment reflects typical conditions found in a medical practice including exposure to standard clinical equipment patient interactions and administrative is potential exposure to common medical practice conditions including communicable diseases bodily fluids and chemical demands include walking bending reaching lifting up to 20 pounds stooping assisting patients and prolonged periods of position may also involve occasional stress due to multiple responsibilities and competing job description outlines the general nature and responsibilities of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties or requirements.
