What Youll Do:
Responsibilities of the Surgical Technology Instructor include but are not limited to:
- Delivering engaging hands-on instruction in both classroom and lab settings.
- Supporting student growth through mentoring regular feedback and individualized success planning.
- Ensuring your curriculum stays current and aligned with real industry expectations.
- Partnering with fellow instructors administrators and industry leaders to maintain a high-quality learning experience.
- Leading by example in professionalism safety and workplace readiness.
- Actively participating in program development accreditation efforts employer advisory committees and campus-wide events.

What Were Looking For:
Were seeking professionals who are passionate about teaching and committed to excellence. Successful candidates will have:
- Education: A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of recent experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist. Experience may include at least 2 years in the operating room scrub role as an instructor in surgical technology or a combination of both in the past 5 years.
- Industry Credentials & Certifications: Must hold a current surgical technology-specific credential that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) in addition to any other credentials a person may currently retain and/or are required by the sponsoring institution institutional accreditor(s) and/or state approval agency if applicable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word etc.) and Google Suite tools (Docs Sheets Slides etc.). Experience with Canvas and curriculum development is a plus.
- Organizational Abilities: Strong skills in communication time management and organization to efficiently manage classroom and practical training responsibilities.
- Attention to Detail: A keen ability to assess student performance ensure industry standards are met and maintain accurate records.
