Job Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 INDEFINITE EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR Position Description Number Dand is part of the CO CSMS 07 National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Full Assistant to a supervisor who has responsibility for providing overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions.
Planning: Provides direct input or participates in meetings and/or conferences with engineering production control and other personnel involving the initial analysis of long-range work requirements.
Work Direction: Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors sets deadlines and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed.
Administration: Develops and establishes internal procedures (e.g. meetings content and timing of reports) to be followed by subordinate supervisors to assure effective control and direction of work activities organizations and personnel supervised.
Develops publishes and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations inspections mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Must be a current Permanent Dual Status Military Technician with the COARNG.
- Must hold the grade of E-8 or E-9.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup operation and working relationships of complex interconnecting systems assemblies and parts for a variety of combat tactical commercial special purpose vehicles and equipment.
2. Experience diagnosing repairing overhauling and modifying interconnected complex systems on a variety of combat tactical commercial special purpose vehicles and equipment.
3. Experience working with state of the art electrical electronic complex hydraulic pneumatic and other major non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of major mechanical systems.
4. Experience working with hydraulic lifting loading turning and positioning systems and their mechanical hydraulic pneumatic electrical and electronic controls.
5. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan direct and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.
6. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines
7. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts and knowledge of shop processes.
8. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
