This position is part of the Government Publication Sales Government Publishing Office in Pueblo Colorado.
- Furnishes technical advice to unit midsection chiefs.
- Assists in the training of new employees.
- Research of publication status affects the efficiency of the unit and control over inventory.
- Applies general knowledge of Pueblo Documents Distribution Center (PuDDC) Bar Coding System.
- Contacts with other units in the center is to facilitate and coordinate the expeditious flow of work.

- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period
- Selectee must undergo a background investigation for a Suitability.
- Selectee must pass a drug test prior to appointment.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed on concrete floors and incumbent has frequent exposure to industrial trucks wooden pallets and metal containers.
- Physical Requirements: Some lifting of light to moderate weight mail sacks and publications is required during workday.
To qualify for the Supply Technician PGyou must meet the following requirements:
To qualify for the Supply Technician (Inventory) PGapplicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-05 level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private sector that includes:(1) Assisting the supervisor in controlling and assigning the flow of work through the unit;(2) Reviewing work and performing research to maintain inventory control; and (3) Meeting customer and public relations satisfaction by responding quickly and thoroughly to publication requests.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (10/08/2026) to be considered.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

For a Suitability:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.
