Supply Chain Strategy Intern

DJJ is looking for an intern to join our Brokerage Division for the Brokerage group is the largest of its kind in North are a commodities trader Brokering Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap as well as Ferro Alloy Products both domestically and abroad. A DJJ Intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of Commodities Trading. You will gain exposure tothe scrap and steel commodities markets the macro-economic trends and data analyzed and gain a better understanding of how to utilize analytical tools to forecast specific market scenarios. You will also learn how to work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network with department leaders and other professionals throughout the company.

• Work with experienced analysts to better understand commodity markets and their interaction with macroeconomic trends and data
• Work on assigned projects that can include price or volume forecasting or basic statistical analysis
• Lead a summer-long project aimed at improving a business process or uncovering a data-driven story that adds measurable value to the organization
• Participate in group meetings tasks as assigned

• Gain an understanding of how Nucor operates as the most vertically integrated steelmaker in the world
• Demonstrates curiosity and initiative with a willingness to dive into unfamiliar topics ask thoughtful questions and persist through challenges to deliver meaningful results.

• Undergraduate student who is majoring and/or minoring in economics statistics business analytics supply chain management or finance
• Possess excellent analytical thinking skills and is proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge and use of Project R Python SQL and/or Microsoft Power BI
