YETiSEARCH is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for our Katy TX based client. This role will support the development and management of a high-performing global supply chain within a complex industrial manufacturing environment. This role works cross-functionally with Quality Engineering Procurement and Suppliers to evaluate supplier capabilities drive process improvements and ensure product quality across a range of mechanical and electrical systems and components.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting supplier qualification manufacturing quality and technical supplier development in industries involving fabricated machined welded cast or electrical components. This position requires strong problem-solving skills supplier engagement experience and the ability to operate effectively within multi-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a key liaison between Quality Engineering and Procurement teams for supplier identification evaluation and development activities.
Lead or support supplier qualification initiatives including capability assessments audits and process validations.
Develop and communicate First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Lot Quality Plans.
Support strategic supplier development initiatives focused on quality capability capacity and cost improvements.
Conduct supplier assessments and onsite audits to evaluate manufacturing processes quality systems and technical capabilities.
Manage supplier-related non-conformance issues and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Lead root cause investigations utilizing methodologies such as 8D 5 Whys and Fish-bone analysis.
Develop supplier inspection plans and quality support procedures.
Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and quality compliance.
Support supply chain initiatives related to process improvement risk reduction and long-term operational capability.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree or equivalent experience considered.
3 years of experience in supplier quality manufacturing engineering supplier development or procurement within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Experience qualifying suppliers and manufacturing processes related to casting machining coatings welding piping systems electrical systems or advanced manufacturing technologies.
Strong understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (8D 5 Whys Fishbone etc.).
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and collaborate with engineering teams on manufacturability and quality requirements.
Experience conducting supplier audits process qualifications and technical supplier development activities.
Experience working in cross-functional and/or international project environments.
Strong communication influencing and negotiation skills.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 3550%.
Experience with rotating equipment power generation systems or similar industrial equipment is a plus.
