Supplier Manufacturing Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer in El Segundo California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will oversee the design procurement fabrication and commissioning of specialized aerospace tooling produced by external manufacturing suppliers. The engineer will serve as a primary technical liaison between internal engineering teams and suppliers driving manufacturing execution supplier quality and delivery of composite and metallic tooling.

Required Skills

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 47 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• CNC machining knowledge or experience.
• Knowledge of composite manufacturing applications and tooling.
• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Technical writing and documentation experience including development of Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Experience with 3D CAD software.
• Experience evaluating manufacturing processes supplier capabilities and technical requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and related Microsoft Office applications.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced degree in an engineering discipline.
• Hands-on composites experience.
• Supplier audit or supplier capability assessment experience.
• Root cause analysis training or experience.
• Lean Manufacturing experience or certification.

What Youll Do

• Oversee the end-to-end design procurement fabrication and commissioning of specialized composite and metallic tooling.
• Work directly with manufacturing suppliers to ensure tooling meets aerospace specifications schedule quality and cost requirements.
• Serve as the technical liaison between engineering teams procurement program management supplier management and manufacturing partners.
• Develop supplier Statements of Work defining technical contractual manufacturing and quality requirements.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities and performance.
• Support management and periodic review of approved tooling suppliers.
• Manage supplier waiver deviation discrepancy and tool deviation requests through established quality processes.
• Investigate supplier nonconformances performance trends and manufacturing failures.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate source inspections and other supplier quality activities.
• Review manufacturing Certificates of Conformance and verify end-item data packages are complete before shipment.
• Use supplier performance databases and quality-system assessment tools to evaluate supplier capability and performance.
• Provide hands-on technical support for CNC machining composite tooling metallic tooling and other manufacturing processes.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 9/80 A work schedule.
• Onsite in El Segundo California.

Pay

• $52.43 per hour.
