Job Summary
This position serves as an Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Program Support Center Manager within TechnicalOperations. Position reports directly to the Technical Operations Technical Services Organization EOSH Support Operations Group(ESOG) Manager and directs the work of subordinate employees at the organizational level.
Provides first level technical and administrative direction to the assigned workforce which may consist of Safety and EnvironmentalCompliance Managers (SECMs) Inspectors Program Managers and contract employees. These employees provide in-depthEnvironmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) expertise to FAA personnel and manage evaluate execute and inspect the FAAsEOSH programs.
Work includes routine project/team tasks based on established policies procedures and guidelines. Managerial duties affect employeesin one organizational unit and include setting priorities assigning tasks monitoring and evaluating performance coaching anddeveloping employee capabilities approving leave and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action as appropriate.
Applies a comprehensive knowledge of the work directed a detailed knowledge of budget human resource and other administrativepolicies and procedures and a detailed understanding of the objectives of the organization.
Applies a comprehensive knowledge of the NAS and Quality Control functions as they relate to EOSH and inspection of facilities andregulatory compliance.
Oversees the compliance with FAA policies and procedures relating to EOSH programs. Serves as the central point of reference forinterpretation of FAA and Federal regulatory EOSH requirements.
Review and analyzes EOSH reports and data to provide findings and identify trends for collaboration and resolution through programdevelopment with Technical Operations Management.
Serves as Government Technical Interpreter (GTI).
Contacts are primarily within the organizational unit/major subdivision with subordinates peers and higher-level managers to discussthe status of projects/programs and to share information. Resolves routine problems independently but consults with higher-levelmanagement when existing guidelines are not available or applicable to complex problems.
Individual and organizational performance is typically reviewed periodically by higher level management often through status reportsand organizational performance measures to ensure timeliness policy compliance and alignment with project/program activities typically impact directly on the objectives of the organizational some areas the work may affect theorganizational units internal and external customers.- US Citizenship is required.

Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level (FV-I or FG/GS-13) that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform in this position. To be creditable specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experienceis experience evaluating and optimizing the performance of facilities and services in the National Airspace System (NAS) and analyze alternate courses of action in the management and improvement of NAS systems.

Supervisory/Managerial Training Requirement: For newly appointed managers mandatory corporate training must be completed within prescribed time frames.
Security Requirement: Candidates being considered for this Moderate Risk Public Trust (Sensitivity Level 5) position must have received a satisfactory/suitability clearance prior to placement in this position unless a waiver is granted.
