Job Summary
Overview/Purpose:
The Bus Supervisory Assistant is directly responsible for the supervision safety and well-being of students while being transported to and from school and school-related activities. The Bus Supervisory Assistant works collaboratively with the bus driver parents/guardians school staff and special services personnel to ensure students are transported safely and appropriately.
Duties/Responsibilities or Essential Functions:
- Supervise students by enforcing safety regulations while riding the bus.
- Assist in properly securing wheelchairs.
- Properly fasten in seats when required.
- See that each child is seated and stays seated.
- Other safety regulations.
- Help load and unload students requiring assistance including wheelchair students.
- Work cooperatively with parents.
- Assist with the management of children with special health problems e.g. seizures.
- Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor of Transportation and the Director of Special Services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Be at least eighteen years of age
- Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent

Salary Range: $17.13 per hour
Contract Year (176 days 3.25 hours per day)
Benefits: This position is not eligible for medical or retirement benefits.
