SUMMARY
The Operations Supervisoris responsible forsupervising labor management and planning of inbound outbound Product slotting and customer communication activitieson a daily basis including labor scheduling spaceutilizationequipmentand manpower.Peoplemanagement responsibilities include hiring and trainingplanningand assigning daily work conducting performance appraisals addressing performanceissuesand resolving problems.Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager the Supervisoris responsible forsupervising the receivingwarehousingand shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and costobjectives.
As part of the DSV team Associates are expected to meet companyobjectivesin the areas of performance safety and are expected tocomply withall corporate and site-specific policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities plan andassurecontinuous improvement.
Effectively keeps senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect the operations
Ensures the development of systems and procedures for managing operations equipment and products in a safe and profitable mannerin accordance withcompanypolicies guidelines and operations to meetprescribesproductivity and service withterms outlined in sites operating agreement with the client.
Implements and reportson-goingcost savings ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations.
Meets all client specifiedKPIs andcomplies withQuality system requirements.
Manages the operations to achieve prescribed sound communication and motivational techniques create programs tofairly and equitably supervise counsel and (where needed) discipline team direction and support tothe creating programs for hiring training and professional in performance evaluationsystemfor recommending promotions wage increases and other HR activities.
Has overall training and evaluation responsibilities of warehouse staff.
Plans the daily work schedule by reviewing existing work orders arrival notices and instructions from customers.Assesses priorities based on time sensitivity and available resources.Assigns duties toappropriate warehousestaff.
Reviews pending jobs or trends plan for reorganization of warehouse space and needed changes in levels of supplies equipment or staffing needs.
Trainsnew staffin assigned duties or delegate training responsibility to experienced teammember.Assesses progress oftrainees andaddadditionalduties asappropriate.
Keeps informed ofquantityand quality of jobs being performed throughout the day providing guidance andadviceas necessary.
Assigns supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads forlower levelwarehouse staff.Keeps abreast of progress or problems.
Keeps Manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention on a daily basis. Holds regular meetings with warehouse staff to assessgroupsoverall status. Discusses ideas for improvement.Keeps staff informed of new developments.
Assistsin the physical operations as needed.
Delivers results byleveragingthe skills of the right people at the right time
Maintains high degree of motivation in team members toretainfocus of providing highest levels of customer satisfaction
Provides ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members
Provides input and conduct annual performance reviews for team members
Supports adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Supports and trains team members with adherence to SOPs (corporate and client)
Management Information Systems
Ensuresall team members areproperly trainedand efficient in the required information systems (including WMS systems) to meet company and clientobjectivesandfacilitatethe efficient operation of the that necessary computer software and hardware arepurchasedin accordance withCorporate IT policies and knowledgeableregardingchanges in hardware and software client systems.
Customer Service
Manageshigh levelcustomer service standards for all that client accounts receive the required level of operational and administrative contactwith all functions andrespondto requests when required.Attendsmeetings with key customers to discuss any customer issues. Coordinates management of supplier/customer visits to the site. Promotesa positive relationshipwith clients by providing excellent customer service.
Marketing & Sales
Participates andassistsDirector and other company resources in planning new account strategiesprospecting fornew opportunities generating positive word of mouth andparticipatein the development of quoting rates.
Budgeting
Supports the development of an annual operating and manages a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost revenue and profit and supports to ensure that the budgeting and pricing activities are in compliance with contract guidelines.
Equipment & Facilities
Manages existing programs formaintainingcompany standards of sanitation maintenance security housekeeping safetyandequipment including material handling equipment (MHE).Ensuresteam members areproperly trainedon any MHE.
Keeps informed of relevantnew technologyandmakerecommendations as applicable.
Safety
Achieves company goals in terms of injury frequency ratings (IFR) and other safety metrics byestablishinga proactive and participative safety culture within the warehouse daily for compliance with safety security and quality principles and a cleanneatand orderly work all federalprovincialor other statutory requirements are adhered to within the parameters of Health and Safety.
OTHER DUTIES
Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Assistthe operations/general manager as needed

Complies withall federal state and local regulations
MINIMUMREQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
Must have aHighschool diploma or general education degree (GED).
3yearsexperienceworking ina logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
1 year experience in a supervisory role
Able to operate MHE
Certificates Licenses Registrations or Professional Designations
Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Some college
2-4years experiencein a supervisory role
2-4yearsforklift experience.
Current or prior MHE certification

While performing the duties of thisjobthe employeeuses his/herhands to finger handle or feel objectstoolsor controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel or crouch; talk or employeeusescomputer and telephone vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.Must be able to lift up to 40lbswhile following proper lifting procedures. Must be able to stand onfeetfor up to 8 hours per day.

For this position the expected base pay range is $59440.00 $74300.00 . Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience skills education certifications and geographic location in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
