As our Sterile Processing Supervisor you will be a crucial asset in our surgical services team responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing Department. Your primary function will be to lead the department in meeting essential instrumentation and sterilization needs ensuring that every tool used for patient care meets the highest standards of safety and functionality. This role directly contributes to the operational success of our ministry by safeguarding patient outcomes through meticulous adherence to regulatory standards and manufacturer instructions for use (IFU).
Every day you will engage in comprehensive leadership and oversight activities including managing department inventory coordinating staff schedules and collaborating with OR leadership and ancillary departments to ensure seamless surgical workflows. Youll expertly maintain accurate instrument checklists perform all duties of Sterile Processing Technicians and serve as the primary resource for complex sterilization needs. This role also involves driving quality improvement by developing metrics in partnership with Infection Prevention providing ongoing staff education and competency training and proactively managing equipment repairs and department budget variances to ensure peak efficiency.
To be successful in this supervisor role you will need extensive experience in sterile processing demonstrating a strong command of sterilization techniques instrumentation management and the ability to interpret technical IFUs. Your ability to lead mentor and evaluate staff combined with a commitment to maintaining rigorous quality and safety standards is paramount. Required
- High School Diploma
- Sterile Processing Certification through CBSPD or IAHCSM (Obtained within 6 months of hire.)
- Minimum 2 years experience
PREFERRED Qualifications
- Preferred 3-5 years experience in field
