The role ensures inspection processes product disposition quality controls and related quality assurance activities are executed effectively and in accordance with applicable standards specifications and company DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESQuality Inspection Operations (30%)Oversees source inspector and quality assurance operations activities across assigned U.S. operations to ensure inspection requirements are completed accurately and in support of production and customer needs. Establishes operational priorities coordinates inspection resources and ensures work is performed in accordance with engineering drawings specifications work instructions and applicable Assurance & Compliance (25%)Ensures inspection activities and related quality processes comply with company procedures customer-specific requirements IATF 16949 AS9100 and other applicable quality management system requirements. Maintains effective inspection procedures and work instructions and supports internal customer and third-party audit Containment & Corrective Action (20%)Ensures quality issues are appropriately identified contained evaluated and resolved. Monitors inspection results and nonconforming material coordinates timely disposition and containment activities and supports investigations and corrective actions related to internal quality issues customer complaints supplier concerns and quality near Performance & Continuous Improvement (15%)Monitors quality performance inspection results DPPM cost of quality and other applicable metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Partners with Operations Engineering Manufacturing Supply Chain and other functions to improve product quality inspection effectiveness and process Systems & Qualification (10%)Maintains effective inspection processes and supports the qualification certification and continued competency requirements applicable to source inspection activities. Identifies opportunities to strengthen inspection methods quality controls and organizational understanding of applicable quality RESPONSIBILITIESOversees daily operations to ensure standards and service levels are metDirectly supervises team members including scheduling task assignment and performance managementParticipates in hiring onboarding and training department employeesConducts performance evaluations and provides ongoing coaching and feedbackEnsures compliance with company policies and applicable regulationsSupports employee engagement and retention strategiesLeads implementation of small-scale process improvements to enhance team efficiency and service levelsMonitors and analyzes team performance data to identify trends and inform staffing workflow and performance management decisions a numbered list to address the type of supervisory responsibility if applicable that is expected from this You AreHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in Quality Engineering Manufacturing Business or a related discipline to eight years of progressively responsible quality inspection manufacturing or related experience providing direct supervision or leadership of employees SKILLS AND ABILITIESThorough knowledge of quality inspection practices product acceptance requirements and nonconformance processes in a manufacturing knowledge of AS9100 IATF 16949 customer-specific requirements and applicable quality management to read and interpret engineering drawings specifications inspection requirements and technical knowledge of containment root-cause analysis corrective action and continuous improvement to analyze quality metrics and inspection data and identify trends risks and opportunities for to establish operational priorities and coordinate resources in response to changing production and customer communication organization decision-making and cross-functional collaboration with Microsoft Office and applicable quality or manufacturing CONDITIONSWork is performed in manufacturing inspection and office environments. The role regularly requires presence in production and inspection areas where exposure to industrial equipment noise temperature variation and other manufacturing conditions may occur. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required in designated position may require schedule flexibility to support manufacturing operations inspection requirements audits employee needs or quality issues occurring outside normal working hours. Travel between company locations or supplier facilities may be required based on operational needs.
