Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor at our CHS facility in Great Bend KS The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a maintenance team responsible for the reliability safety and performance of our Crude facilities and fleet assets (including diesel equipment and vehicles). This role prioritizes preventive maintenance rapid troubleshooting and root cause analysis to minimize downtime and control costs while ensuring strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The supervisor coordinates daily work across technicians supports operations and engineering and helps develop a strong proactive maintenance culture. You must be a self-motivated detail-oriented results-driven individual with a commitment to quality accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with a strong commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance technicians prioritize and assign daily work orders across crude facilities and diesel fleet assets.
  • Ensure mechanical integrity of equipment facility systems and fleet vehicles/mobile equipment through proactive preventive maintenance and reliability practices.
  • Coordinate maintenance and project activities with Operations to support uptime and minimize operational disruption.
  • Drive cost-effective maintenance decisions balancing reliability safety and budget considerations including vendor support as needed.
  • Lead root cause analysis of equipment and fleet failures and implements corrective actions to improve reliability and prevent recurrence.
  • Support EHS initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety environmental and regulatory requirements (including DOT if applicable).
  • Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards correcting unsafe conditions and ensuring adherence to CHS safety standards.
  • Provide coaching training and performance feedback to develop technical skills (including diesel diagnostics and repair) within the team.
  • Maintain critical parts inventory for both facility and fleet needs to support timely repairs and operational continuity.
  • Plan and coordinate equipment repair/major maintenance events to minimize downtime and support operation schedules.
  • Participate in hiring onboarding and workforce planning to ensure adequate staffing and capability.
  • Support emergency and after-hours maintenance response to restore operations quickly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in Transportation Operations and/or Maintenance

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance and repair in a transportation setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work extended hours to meet business demands
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • CDL license with Hazmat and tanker endorsements a plus
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include without limitation experience education training specialized skills and certifications minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
