Position Title: Supervisor Janitorial Services

FTE/Classification: Full-Time Non-Exempt

Location: 125 Atlantic Street Hackensack NJ

Hours: Monday-Friday (1:00pm 9:30 pm)

Primary Functions: Supervise and train porters janitors and members who are working at our janitorial accounts/sites to make sure they are properly doing their job. Educate and train them as needed and report back on their progress. When needed assist staff with any cleaning needed to finish the job accordingly while making sure the staff member is learning and progressing to be able to finish the job themselves. Report back all feedback from sites daily to the Assistant Director of Janitorial Services and Director of Maintenance.

Supervisory Responsibilities when applicable:

• Provides direct supervision to assigned staff to enhance their skills sets and commercial cleaning abilities
• Provides on-going support to staff to ensure completion of job responsibilities
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agencys policies applicable laws and governmental regulatory agencies
• Reviews staff responsibilities to determine time frame and scope of authority reviews staffing requirements and allotments of available resources
• Evaluates staff productivity and documentation of service delivery
• Responsibilities include training new employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Functions include:

The Supervisor Janitorial Services will need to ensure the porters janitors and members who work for them are able to complete various tasks including:

1. Supervise staff on-site including but not limited to janitors porters and members of our programs.
2. When assistance is needed you may need to clean sites so we can maintain cleanliness of all NJFH janitorial sites instructed to supervise.
   1. This includes but not limited to offices hallways classrooms lobby floors windows doors walls restrooms floors sinks counters commodes fixtures elevators and/or stairwells.
3. Supervise the interior and exterior of the building and grounds of our janitorial sites during the day to make certain the grounds and common areas are free of debris.
4. This is a working supervisor position and you may be asked to not just supervisor but also do some cleaning tasks.
5. May perform other duties as assigned within your scope of ability.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 3 years previous facilities maintenance / janitorial experience.
• Minimum 1 year of direct experience supervising janitors or porters.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
• MUST have reliable transportation to and from our Hackensack office regularly and from time to time our Oradell office as well.
• MUST have a valid drivers license in good standing.
• MUST be able to use a laptop or tablet to be able to do reports for sites as needed.
• MUST be able to handle multiple projects with limited guidance.
• The supervisor will use a company vehicle to drive to and from individual work sites unless approved to use your own vehicle by the Director of Maintenance.
