In this role youll provide day-to-day leadership and support to our medical coding team helping ensure quality productivity accuracy and compliance. As a trusted leader within Deaconess youll help cultivate a collaborative environment built on professionalism accountability respect and a commitment to exceptional patient care.

What Youll Do:

• Provide first-line supervision guidance and support to medical coding staff.
• Monitor coding quality productivity and performance to ensure department standards are met.
• Perform coding quality verification and help identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure coding practices comply with applicable State and Federal regulations as well as organizational policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to optimize reimbursement while maintaining coding accuracy and compliance.
• Provide training and ongoing education to new and existing coding staff.
• Assist with problem-solving and resolution of coding-related questions and concerns.
• Assist with reporting from coding and abstracting applications.
• Support a positive collaborative team environment focused on quality accuracy and continuous improvement.

Education & Experience:

• Completion of High School or GED is required.
• A coding credential is required such as Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Other AAPC or AHIMA credentials may be considered.
• Five years of previous medical coding experience is required.
• Bachelors Degree is preferred.
• Previous leadership supervisory or training experience is preferred.
