Job Summary
SummaryBalfour Beatty Construction is seeking a Superintendent to work on various projects for the Los Angeles market. The Superintendent is responsible for all field operations including the coordination of subcontractors work. Responsible for all field activities associated with the project including ultimate responsibility for implementation of Safety/Zero Harm program for the job site supervision of all field construction work by subcontractors and self-performed work. Shares responsibility with the project manager for developing the project budget actively participating in the preconstruction phase and ensuring that the project is built on time within budget and according to company policies and procedures. Manages and mentors assistant superintendents and other field FunctionsSafety: ZERO HARMLead Oversee and Educate Owners Subcontractors Team Members and Community on the Zero Harm safety culture and its project safety walks. Lead in project safety meetings. Lead Safety Stand downs tool box talks and in incident investigationsEnsure safety is properly incorporated into job planning and project and maintain strong with new and existing clients construction managers architects/ engineers subcontractors key stakes holders and operations-related components of proposals and presentationsLead construction delivery portions of presentationsProject Financial Responsibility to ensure a project is delivered with Budget .-Assist in Project Cost Projection and Financial Reporting (Monthly Quarterly and Yearly) Budget ReviewsReview and approve monthly owner and subcontractor pay applicationsCommunicate with Project Manager on Potential extra charges and proper Cost Event tracking and Order -Assists with EstimatesAssist with Constructability/ Value EngineeringCreate and update Phase and Site Logistic plansCreate Overall Project scheduleAssist in the creation of project GC and GR budgets Staff PlanningAssist in Scope WritingReview of Owner RiskParticipate in Preconstruction Meeting with Owner and Subcontractors and & Scheduling-Develop the Overall Project Plan Phasing Logistics Milestones and SchedulePerform schedule updates (prefer P6 experience)- Monthly Updates 3 week look ahead etcLead pull planning sessions with subcontractors and other key stakeholdersDelay tracking and Notifications. Time Impact Analysis DevelopmentProcurement TrackingAbility to Identify Navigate and negotiation schedule roadblocks and Loaded Schedule experience is a Administration Operations and Close-outCo- Lead with Project Manager Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) and Key Stake Holder meetingsLead weekly subcontractor meetingsParticipate Monthly Project Reporting (MPR) preparation and discussionsCommunicate job needs / issues up as necessaryLead the Project Quality Control Program Preconstruction Meeting first work inspections and in closeout of project subcontractors and vendors. Lead project punch-list completionObtain certificate of occupancy and government approvalsBuild Effective Teams Foster Positive Culture Leadership and Employee Development. Mentor train and develop salary personnel in all aspects of their careers. Provide timely feedback and ensure that employees participate in the performance review RequirementsHigh School Diploma or years or more of commercial construction fieldexperience on K-12 and or Higher ED Construction. Both are not requiredFive to 10 years of direct supervisory experience related to staff and subcontractor using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools such as email the internet Procore Bluebeam Navisworks and Microsoft products (e.g. Word Excel Office Outlook). Creating and maintain schedules in P6 is a to read plans and 30Preferred ExperienceDSA/Public Works experienceDBIA and CCM Professional Certifications (preferred but not required)CIESC Certification (preferred but not required)The base compensation range for the role of Superintendentin El Segundo CA posted above is $120000 to $160000 annually.*This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future. An employees pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs. No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned vested and determinable.
