Summer Intern, Mechanical (Summer 2027)

Job Summary

The Summer Intern Mechanical will assist with routine engineering work on projects of varying sizes under the supervision of experienced engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Adopt a positive attitude of accountability by providing reliable constructible affordable and timely solutions (RCAT) resulting in Providence being the Engineer of Choice
• Assist with routine or entry-level engineering tasks neatly accurately and efficiently to meet budget hours estimate provided by supervisor
• Assist with engineering calculations and minor designs
• Assist with multiple concurrent projects for various project managers and sometimes for other branches
• Develop communications skills through correspondence and coordination with internal clients
• Attend design meetings construction meetings and site visits with experienced engineer
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge Experience and Skills

• PursuingBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Architectural Engineering with mechanical emphasis or a closely related field is required
• Junior year status in degree program
• Completed coursework in mechanical design preferable for buildings
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to use Carrier HAP Trane Trace or similar company-approved mechanical analysis software in concert with hand-written calculations
• Ability to present hand-written calculations in an organized and legible manner
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate project records
