Our program helps clients addressaddiction and related issues increase skills manage stressors connect to supportive services and build afoundation for lasting recovery. This residential inpatient program runs 24/7 for 90 days. Acceptance Placeoffers Individual and group therapy individualized case management treatment planning drug andalcohol counseling medication support services and crisis SUD Counselor III is an AOD Certified individual and is an integral part of this interdisciplinary teamthat supports our clients through assessment of their needs and strengths in support of their health andrecovery. SUD Counselor III will perform counseling in individual and group setting deliver curricula inaccordance with program specific requirements and case management and assist clients in navigatingsystems of care while providing a supportive treatment environment. This position assists withonboarding new staff mentoring interns/ RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain an assigned caseload of up to 25 clients depending on the facility staffing pattern andbusiness needs and provide individualized weekly counseling. Facilitate group counseling sessions community meetings and teach classes on varioustreatment-related topics to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals. Perform crisis intervention and communicate with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise. Properly document all group counseling sessions and all individual sessions as needed within 24-72 hours per contract requirements. Must meet residential service delivery goal of 60%. Proactively link clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs. Follow up on the progress or status of clients treatment. Document client updates and incidents daily. Maintain safety and security of the clients in the facility by performing periodic house runs. Ensure client medications are securely stored and properly accounted for as needed. Monitor and document client administration of medication. Assign client duties and sign off upon completion. As needed accompany clients to offsite appointments related to their treatment. Collaborate with client and other internal and external resources to develop or maintain problemlists and/or treatment plans transition plans progress notes and appropriate updates in supportof their health and recovery. Complete discharge paperwork/process and other required agency assessments in a timelymanner. Support intake process such as preparing rooms and maintaining supplies. Perform property and room searches as needed. Respond to overdose and other medical emergencies. Perform tests for substance use such as urinalysis and breathalyzer. Observe clients every 30 minutes and document on observation log per program requirements. Collect clean or dispose of biohazard waste. Disinfect and clean rooms and common areas as needed. Accurately enter data in various electronic systems for all clients in accordance with guidelinesestablished by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements. Read and respond to emails calls and Teams messages in a timely manner. Complete assigned training as needed and as required by the due date. Attend and actively participate in meetings. Plan and facilitate celebrations and special events. Work on weekends and holidays as needed. Assist with onboarding of new hires and training or mentoring of new and existing employeesinterns or perform other duties as Certification or Licensure High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in health and human servicesSocial Work Psychology or other related field preferred. Must be certified as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor or as a Substance Abuse Counselor witha California approved certifying agency (CCAPP CADTP or CAADE). Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Possess a valid CA drivers Minimum of one year of experience as registered substance abuse or behavioral disordercounselor or recovery specialist in community mental health. Experience carrying a and Skills Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications specifically Word Outlook and internetapplications. Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse mental health criminalbackground and other potential barriers to economic Client-Centered Communication: Demonstrates active listening empathy and respect in allclient interactions providing a non-judgmental and compassionate environment. Counseling and Group Facilitation: Effectively conducts individual and group counselingsessions adhering to program-specific curricula and treatment-related topics. Case Management and Resource Coordination: Assists clients in navigating systems of carelinking them to internal and external resources and following up on their progress. Crisis Intervention: Responds quickly and appropriately to crisis situations utilizing deescalation techniques to manage and prevent escalation of issues. Treatment Plan Development: Collaborates with clients and interdisciplinary teams to assesstreatment needs and maintain up-to-date treatment plans and transition strategies. Cultural Sensitivity: Treats clients with dignity honoring their cultural backgrounds andincorporating culturally competent approaches in counseling and case management. Documentation and Compliance: Ensures accurate and timely documentation of counselingsessions progress notes treatment plans and discharge processes in compliance with agencystandards and external requirements. Team Collaboration: Works effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team sharing informationattending meetings and contributing to client success. Facility Safety and Security: Proactively maintains the safety and security of the facilityconducting routine checks and handling client medication and keys responsibly. Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to work on-call weekends and holidays adapting tovarying schedules and client needs as they arise.
