Ceiba College Preparatory Academy is a grade 6-12 public charter school located in Watsonville California. This is a full time position - 40 hours per Job DescriptionSubstitutes at Ceiba implement lessons to students in grades 6 through 12 provided by the classroom teacher. As a support staff member substitutes absorb many different roles and responsibilities. PRIMARY SUB RESPONSIBILITIESImplement and teach lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent teacher consult with Human Resources if a lesson plan is not providedSupervise students outside the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteriaComply with all school regulations and policies at all timesTake attendance in Synergy Document incidents in Educators HandbookEnsure classrooms and student assignments are kept clean and orderlyEmail the teacher with an overview of how the class and day with the studentsEnsure safety of students at all timesProvide individualized instruction and small group support in class and during Fast 40 periods to ensure all students are advancing at an appropriate level Employ strong classroom management skills that create and maintain a positive classroom cultureCorrect and provide objective actionable and encouraging feedback to studentsCollaborate closely with team members to share best practices improve instructional strategies and align and integrate curriculum across departments and grade levelsLead/participate in homeroom homeroom activities gatherings and intervention/enrichment activitiesBuild and foster strong collaborative relationships with parents and familiesPromote Ceiba core values of Creativity Effort Integrity Benevolence and Assertiveness OTHER RESPONSIBILITIESEffectively use Ceiba programs and systems including Educators Handbook Synergy Hapara Schoology instructional materials for designated content areasAssist teachers with the implementation of students modification and accommodationsSupport students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing approp
