Substitute Instructional Assistant (At Will On Call Basis Hours Vary)

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Under general supervision to perform a variety of instructional duties and activities designed to free the instructor from routine work related to the educational program; to assist in the conduct of intensified learning experiences; to perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel; and to do other related work as : At least two (2) years of education at the junior college : One year of paid or volunteer experience working with multi-age groups of children. Training or course work in child growth and development instructional technology or a closely related field is highly OF: Basic concepts of child growth and development and developmental behavior characteristics; student behavior management strategies and techniques; appropriate English usage punctuation spelling grammar; basic mathematical concepts; basic operating knowledge of standard office equipment including computers and technology; routine record management storage and retrieval systems and an understanding patient and receptive attitude towards students of varied age groups; motivate students; communicate effectively in oral and written form in English; perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office-related machines and equipment; learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures in the enhancement of a positive educational environment; be empathetic when working with students having special needs when mainstreamed or placed in the classroom; understand and carry out oral and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and : Passing grade on the State required Instructional Aide Proficiency Test. Person performing service in this position classification may exert 20 to 50 pounds of force to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
