ACALANES UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICTCLASS TITLE: FOOD SERVICES ASSISTANTBASIC FUNCTION:Under the direction of an assigned supervisor prepare and serve hot and cold food items at an assigned school site; maintain food service facilities equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary DUTIES:ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Prepare and serve hot and cold food items at an assigned school site according to established guidelines policies and procedures; assemble various ingredients; heat package and wrap food items according to established procedures and portion control up food service area; prepare and set out food and beverages for sale and distribution; distribute meals to students and staff; count and set-up plates trays and utensils; stock condiments food items paper goods and other supplies as food service facilities equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition; clean serving areas counters tables food containers refrigerators and food service equipment; operate dish washers and wash trays pots pans plates utensils and other serving equipment as cashiering duties as assigned; collect and count money and make correct change; prepare balance and verify cash boxes; operate a cash register as required; maintain related in the receipt storage and rotation of food items and supplies in storage areas as assigned; assist with inventory activities as directed; open cans and replenish containers as standard food service equipment such as ovens slicers food carts can openers and up stock and clean assigned food bar as routine records related to food items temperatures and assigned DUTIES:Perform related duties as AND ABILITIES:KNOWLEDGE OF:Basic food preparation including washing cutting and assembling food items and and safety practices related to preparing handling and serving kitchen equipment utensils and and written communication math and cashiering lifting record-keeping TO:Prepare and serve hot and cold food items at an assigned school food service facilities equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary cashiering duties as standard kitchen equipment safely and health and sanitation effectively both orally and in cut slice and assemble food cooperatively with and follow oral and written basic math routine records related to work electronically via AND EXPERIENCE:Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed CONDITIONS:ENVIRONMENT:Food service to heat from DEMANDS:Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer and speaking to exchange information in person and on the at the waist kneeling or overhead above the shoulders and or standing for extended periods of to read a variety of and moving offices supplies and to monitor food quality and :Heat from to very hot foods equipment and metal around knives slicers or other sharp to cleaning chemicals and fumes.**The Education Code requires that a criminal background check be conducted on all persons prior to employment by a school district to ascertain whether the applicant has been arrested or convicted of any crime.
