Substitute Custodian

JOB SUMMARY

The substitute custodial employee is responsible for maintaining assigned areas. Employees will work closely with their immediate supervisor to provide a safe and clean environment for students teachers and other staff. Custodial employees may be assigned to special projects related to the needs of the district.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalent

Familiar with basic custodial equipment

Willing to work first and / or second shift

Valid Michigan drivers license

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Keeps assigned interior areas neat clean in attractive condition according to district standards

Operates equipment i.e. floor scrubbers/polishers carpet cleaning equipment

Keeps assigned exterior areas and premises including sidewalks safe neat and clean at all times as appropriate

to the assignment

Sets up arranges and moves furniture and equipment for meetings and other events within and between facilities

as required.

Responsible for opening closing and overall building security as assigned.

Cleans rooms toilet facilities corridors walls floors windows and other areas in accordance with district

standards.

Documents daily work activities on forms as established for the program/assignment.

Reports supply and repair needs to buildingto supervisor

Performs minor repairs preventive maintenance and maintains equipment/building/grounds.

Must be physically able to bend stoop lift squat carry stand climb push/pull and use other

motor skills necessary to perform the essential duties as needed

Follows daily work schedules and communicates work that was not completed to supervisor

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

COMPENSATION: $15.08 per hour with generous pay increases. Contracted through GECs
