MINIMUM QUALIFICATION1. Credential California credential authorizing school counseling service2. Education Sufficient to meet credential requirementsKNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES1. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff students parents and the public contacted in performance of duties2. Demonstrated working knowledge of curriculum3. Knowledge of registration procedures4. Knowledge of counseling objectives principles and procedures5. Ability to listen to students with patience and understanding6. Ability to identify and determine the basic nature of student problems and needs and provide assistance7. Ability to provide career guidance and counseling on an individual basis8. Ability to collect and analyze test data conduct studies keep records and prepare reports9. Knowledge of the ancillary services within the school and how they relate to the program10. Ability to supervise and evaluate the work of subordinate personnel11. Ability to speak and write effectivelyDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Management Area a. Registration b. Be willing to participate in professional inservice (i.e. college admission vocational opportunities/program and professional guidance organization)
