WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Sub Repss are responsible for overseeing the safety and environmental compliance of ice roads ice pads and associated areas used for exploration construction and development. Their key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to all relevant policies regulations and permits and reporting and addressing any potential threats to subsistence activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Comply with all policies procedures safety and environmental standards including those from regulatory bodies such as the North Slope Borough (NSB) Alaska Department of Natural Resources (ADNR) Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Kuukpik Corporation Land Department and other agencies.
- Maintain a daily logbook recording work times truck mileage observations and communications.
- Identify and report sensitive operating areas and potential or current threats to subsistence activities caused by CPAI Santos or contractor operations.
- Conduct daily inspections of the ice road ice pads and related infrastructure ensuring compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
- Regularly report to the CPAI Community Representative (CR) or Environmental Coordinator (EC) via phone or radio and notify them immediately of any issues or concerns related to CPAI activities.
- Promptly report all spills on the ice road documenting the spill with photos GPS coordinates and log entries and inspect the cleanup process to ensure thoroughness.
- Report tundra disturbances to the EC immediately providing photos GPS coordinates and documentation.
- Collect trash daily along ice roads pads and work sites removing delineators stakes and other debris.
- Ensure contractors are using liners in designated areas and enforce CPAI liner policies in coordination with CPAI staff.
- Inspect water source lakes for cleanliness approving lake closures and cleanups in conjunction with the CR and EC.
- Approve the closure of drilling ice pads staging areas ice mining areas and other work zones after use ensuring immediate cleanup and compliance.
- Escalate conflicts with contractors to the CR EC or CPAI Project Manager if issues are unresolved.
- Adhere to posted speed limits on ice and gravel roads.
- Report all injuries to the supervisor the CPAI CR and the EC immediately.
- The Subsistence Representative (SR) will be required to periodically travel to CPAIs exploration drilling ice road and off-pad development sites to observe ongoing activities and identify any potential concerns with current or future operations. The SR will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the impacts of CPAI activities on tundra water resources wildlife and traditional subsistence use.
- The SR will be expected to work with the CPAI Environmental Coordinators (EC) and the CPAI Community Representative (CR) to observe ongoing CPAI and contractor activities as they occur at CPAl exploration drilling ice road construction maintenance locations and off-pad development locations.
- The SR will report potential subsistence issues observed in the field to the EC and the CR and is expected to have at least daily contact (telephone or personal) with them.
- The SR will alert CPAI and contractor personnel to any problems or concerns identified in the field that could damage or negatively affect the villages subsistence activities. They will also be vigilant for changes in subsistence activities subsistence resources and village activities related to CPAI activities.

REQUIREMENTS

- The SRs will be required to attend a Job Orientation training session covering the job scope responsibilities and applicable CPAI Policies and Procedures. The CPAI CR will coordinate this and hold it in Kuparuk Alpine or Nuiqsut.
- Mandatory Attendance: SRs IRMs and SR Environmental and Safety Orientation on a date to be determined in November. This is a condition of employment. Potential IRMs who fail to attend this training will be deemed ineligible for hire.
- Pass urinalysis (UA) pre-employment drug testing
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- If designated to drive a pickup truck a valid drivers license is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods sitting in a vehicle and drafting and documenting reports via iPad.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
- None while on shift
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- The Sub Rep position is a full-time rotational position requiring up to 84 hours/week (up to 12 hours/day 7 days/week) or more depending on the operators operational activities and a minimum of 8 hours/day unless interrupted by hazardous weather.
- The SR position will work a scheduled number of days per month for each person hired. A rotational work schedule is required 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.
- SRs will only be paid for scheduled workdays.
- SRs will be paid for a maximum of 12 hours/day unless the operator approves overtime. This includes a one-hour lunch with 30 minutes allowed.
- Time spent on the job shall be documented on a daily basis via the use of a time clock or other means of approved documentation.
- SRs must notify the General Manager if unable to report to work before the start of the regularly scheduled workday or be subject to immediate termination.
