This recruitment will be used to fill 1 part-time (maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Technical Assistant position for the Department of Food Science and Technology at Oregon State University (OSU). Performs routine to complex technical or specialized tasks in support of the OSU enology program including work in the Osborne research lab and OSU Research and Teaching Winery.
Position Duties:
Position duties to be determined by the hiring unit but may include routine laboratory work data gathering and analysis writing research reports and other duties as assigned.
Winery operations such as grape processing fermentation management filtering and bottling
Routine juice and wine analysis
Collect and collate data

Required Qualifications:
Enrolled in a Viticulture or Enology program
The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral English

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior laboratory and viticulture or winemaking experience
Demonstratable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
May include work outdoors in all types of weather.
May require walking standing bending and stooping for extended periods.
May require working with or around chemicals caustic compounds or hazardous materials used in research.
