Job Summary

Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Wilkinson College Deans Office the Student Social Media Assistant will support the colleges social media and digital communication efforts. The student will assist with creating scheduling and publishing content; promoting college events and initiatives; monitoring engagement; and helping develop social media campaigns designed to connect with current students prospective students alumni faculty staff and the broader Wilkinson community. This position offers hands-on experience in social media marketing content creation digital communications event promotion and audience engagement. The student will work closely with members of the Deans Office to help strengthen Wilkinson Colleges social media presence and brand. Freshman and sophomore students are especially encouraged to apply as this position provides an opportunity to be mentored by experienced junior- and senior-level student designers currently working with the Deans Office.

Responsibilities
Assist with managing Wilkinson College social media platforms including Instagram Facebook Blue Sky and LinkedIn. Create and edit social media content including graphics captions stories reels photos and short-form video. Schedule and publish content using and maintain an organized social media calendar. Monitor the social media group email and route requests to the appropriate team member. Promote Wilkinson College events programs student opportunities faculty accomplishments alumni stories and other college initiatives. Assist with developing social media campaigns designed to increase awareness followers reach and engagement. Review social media analytics and identify trends and opportunities to improve content performance. Monitor comments and direct messages and assist with responses when appropriate. Provide live or same-day social media coverage during selected college events. Cross-promote relevant events and initiatives from Wilkinson departments programs and university partners. Collaborate with Deans Office staff and other student workers on social media and marketing projects. Assist with additional communications and marketing projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Strong writing editing and communication skills. Professional dependable organized and able to meet deadlines. Familiarity with Instagram Facebook and current social media trends. Interest in social media marketing communications content creation or digital storytelling. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple assignments and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn and follow Chapman University brand standards and marketing guidelines.
