Under the general direction of the Alternative Education Principal the Student Engagement and Campus Support Assistant promotes a safe welcoming and supportive learning environment that enhances student attendance engagement and success. The position supervises students supports campus safety and positive behavior assists with attendance intervention and parent/guardian/caregiver outreach connects students and families with community resources and supports the school nutrition program by delivering staging and documenting student meals. As a member of the school team helps remove barriers to student success. This position is funded through the Comprehensive School Improvement grant and is subject to the availability of funds.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentThree (3) years of experience working with youth families schools community organizations orpublic agencies serving at-promise youthLicenses and Certifications:Possess an appropriate valid California Drivers License with evidence of insurabilityDemonstrated proficiency in reading writing and speaking Spanish by passing the MCOESpanish Language Competency TestCPR and First Aid Certified within six (6) calendar months of employmentAttain and maintain a food handlers card within 60 days of employmentCompletion of MCOE training in positive behavior intervention strategies (PBIS) andtrauma-informed and restorative practices within 90 days of employment.
