Student Employee Microbiology Lab Assistant

Up to 20 hours per Week Schedule will vary depending on students class schedule.

Assist with the set-up and take- down of micro labs including moving specimens to/from incubator

• Prepare lab materials specimens and equipment for scheduled classes and experiments
• Set up and clean lab benches glassware and instruments before and after use
• Restock supplies and assist with inventory of chemicals models and tools
• Label and organize samples slides and biological materials as directed
• Follow all safety procedures and assist in maintaining compliance with lab safety protocols
• Dispose of biological waste properly in accordance with college and state guidelines
• Assist faculty and staff with special projects demonstrations or events related to the biology program

• High School Diploma
• Excellent English communication skills
• Ability to frequently bend stretch and lift
