Join the Dining Services team at OSU-Cascades in Bend Oregon! We operate The Beaver Dam our campus dining hall serving students faculty staff and the community; Study Grounds our campus coffee shop; and EDGE Catering supporting events across campus. Most student employees begin in The Beaver Dam where youll learn the fundamentals of food service while building skills in customer service teamwork food preparation and working in a fast-paced environment. As you gain experience you may have opportunities to cross-train in Study Grounds or assist with EDGE Catering and Study Grounds baristas are selected from our Beaver Dam crew. We operate as one team and wherever youre scheduled youll support each other across all three areas.
We know youre a student first. Youll work 1024 hours per week on a schedule thats as consistent as we can make it always built around your class schedule and medical or religious obligations with our best effort to work around other commitments. Students arent required to work during university break periods. Dining Services covers the cost of your Food Handler Card upon hire provides a work shirt and hat and offers food and beverage perks for employees. Hired in fall Youre on the team for the full academic year (or the remainder of the year if hired later) and returning students dont need to reapply after summer break.

About Us
We operate The Beaver Dam our campus dining hall serving students faculty staff and the community; Study Grounds our campus coffee shop; and EDGE Catering supporting events across campus. We operate as one team and wherever youre scheduled youll support each other across all three areas.
Position Duties:
Prepare portion serve and replenish food on the service line in The Beaver Dam dining hall while following food safety and sanitation standards
Provide friendly efficient customer service for students faculty staff campus and community guests
Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and accurately process cash and credit transactions
Maintain food and safety sanitation standard including organizing well-stocked dining dishwashing and cleaning of service and kitchen/service areas
Assist with opening closing and routine cleaning tasks to support daily operations
Work collaboratively with teammates to provide a positive dining experience in a fast-paced environment
Support EDGE Catering events including setup service and breakdown
Support daily dining operations by adapting to changing priorities and assisting in a variety of service areas
Prepare espresso drinks and coffee shop items at Study Grounds (assignment selected from Beaver Dam team members)
Stock rotate and restock food beverages and supplies across service areas
Work flexibly across all Dining Services locations as one team supporting wherever needed

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by theOffice of International Services(OIS) and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
This is an entry-level position and no prior food service experience is required. On-the-job training is provided and applicants with previous food service hospitality or customer service experience are encouraged to apply. This positions pay range is $16.80 - $18.50 per hour.
Location: This is an in-person student employment position located at the OSU-Cascades campus in Bend Oregon. It is not located on the Corvallis campus.
Interviews will generally be conducted in person during fall winter and spring terms. During summer or other periods when students may not be on campus interviews may be conducted remotely.
